'Being woke is for losers': Trump celebrated Sydney Sweeney's commercial
The president praised American Eagle's campaign, supported Sweeney, and once again criticized Taylor Swift and Jaguar
Amid the cultural scandal sparked by the American Eagle ad starring Sydney Sweeney, President Donald Trump replied with statements that further fueled the public debate.
Trump openly supported the actress and described the campaign as "fantastic" after it was confirmed that she is registered as a Republican voter. His words did not go unnoticed.

Trump praised Sweeney and criticized "woke" brands
While flying back to the White House from Pennsylvania, the president answered reporters' questions about the controversy. When told that Sweeney was a Republican, Trump replied with irony: "Is she registered as a Republican? Then I love her ad!"
Later, on his Truth network, he amplified his message: "Sydney Sweeney, registered Republican, has the most attractive ad of the moment. Go get them, Sydney!"

The president also took the opportunity to attack brands that, according to him, surrendered to empty progressivism. He targeted Jaguar for its androgynous campaign and Bud Light for having destroyed its image after partnering with a trans influencer.
"Taylor Swift is no longer attractive"
Trump once again lashed out at the pop singer, whom he had already criticized before. "Since I said I can't stand her, she was booed at the Super Bowl and stopped being attractive," he said harshly.
"Being woke is for losers. Being Republican is what you want to be", the president stated, reinforcing his message about the cultural battle between conservative values and progressive marketing.

The campaign was criticized, but sales soared
The American Eagle ad played with the double meaning between "jeans" and "genes," with phrases alluding to the actress's physical attributes. The spot's aesthetic—with a white, blonde, blue-eyed woman—was the target of accusations of white supremacy and eugenics.
On social media, comparisons to Nazi propaganda quickly appeared. However, the economic effect was the opposite: American Eagle's shares rose by 4% and the brand received massive media exposure.

Vance also defended her: "Didn't you learn anything from 2024?"
Vice President JD Vance also defended the campaign. On a conservative podcast, he ridiculed the Democratic reactions: "If they see a pretty girl in a denim ad, they become hysterical."
He added with irony: "Keep saying that anyone who finds Sydney Sweeney attractive is a Nazi. Didn't you learn anything from the November 2024 elections?"
American Eagle: "Her jeans, her story"
In response to the controversy, American Eagle issued a statement reaffirming its original intention: "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans is, and always was, about jeans."
"Her jeans, her story," the official statement concluded. "We will continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, in their own way."
Meanwhile, Fox News devoted more than 85 minutes in multiple segments to covering the topic, and the brand's jeans—as Trump himself pointed out—literally "flew off the shelves."
