X suspended the accounts of Tasnim News, the Iranian agency linked to the Revolutionary Guard

The social network X suspended on Wednesday the official accounts in Persian and English of Tasnim News, one of the main propaganda agencies linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, in a decision made amid the military escalation between the Tehran regime, the United States, and Israel, while Western powers intensify pressure against the political, economic, and communication structures of the Iranian theocracy.

When attempting to access the profiles, the platform informs that the accounts were suspended for violating its rules. However, so far X has not publicly detailed what posts or behaviors motivated the sanction nor clarified whether it is a temporary or permanent restriction.

Tasnim News was founded in 2012 and is considered one of the main media outlets close to the Revolutionary Guard, the military force responsible for protecting the Islamic regime and conducting a significant part of its operations inside and outside Iranian territory.

The agency disseminates military statements, declarations from regime officials, and content favorable to the theocracy, in addition to covering Iran's nuclear and missile programs and the activities of terrorist organizations backed by Tehran in the Middle East.

The blockade occurred at a time of maximum regional tension, marked by Iranian attacks on U.S. positions, Israeli military operations, and threats from the regime to restrict commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump and Netanyahu assessed how to intensify pressure on Tehran

The measure also took place just hours after the meeting held by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, where both leaders discussed different strategies to prevent the Iranian regime from rebuilding its military and nuclear capabilities.

During the meeting, three possible paths were discussed: reaching an agreement with Tehran, maintaining sanctions accompanied by intermittent military attacks, or expanding the campaign against the regime's strategic structures.

Israel defended a strategy based on deepening Iran's economic isolation without abandoning the threat of new military operations. Among the alternatives evaluated is the possibility of complementing the naval blockade with greater land restrictions on Iranian trade.

Trump, for his part, reportedly expressed concern about the impact that a new escalation could have on energy markets and the global economy, especially in light of Iranian threats against oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
