Xiaomi will launch its first electric SUV and already promises to compete on equal terms with the Model Y, but at a lower price

After the boom that was the Xiaomi SU7, the Chinese brand is doubling down with an SUV that promises more power, range, and top-level.

The YU7 will be officially unveiled on June 26 and will seek to establish Xiaomi as a leader in the electric car market.

Xiaomi's second car

With the SU7, Xiaomi surprised everyone: strong performance, attractive design, and competitive pricing. In a short time, it became a phenomenon.

Now comes the YU7, the company's first SUV. According to CEO Lei Jun, it will focus on a more family-oriented profile, without losing its sporty character.

A bold move against Tesla and Model Y

Everything indicates that Xiaomi is aiming higher. The YU7 is designed as a direct alternative to the Model Y, but with a better price-to-quality ratio.

It also aims to attract those seeking a more premium experience, with cutting-edge technology and a sportier design.

This is the Xiaomi YU7 Max, the most equipped version

Photos of the Max variant have already been leaked, which will feature carbon fiber in details such as the steering wheel, mirrors, and rear spoiler.

It will also come with exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels for this edition and top-level details inside and out.

Raw power and improved battery

The YU7 Max will have a dual motor with 690 horsepower and will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.23 seconds. A beast with an SUV body.

It will also use a 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery, with up to 760 km (472 miles) of range and 800V fast charging.

Total integration with the Xiaomi ecosystem

As expected, the YU7 will be integrated with HyperOS and will feature a 16.1-inch display and Snapdragon 8295 chip.

It will also add the Nvidia Drive Orin system for driving assistance, making it an ultra-connected vehicle.
