The Supreme Court of Justice upheld Cristina Kirchner's sentence to six years in prison and permanent political disqualification.
The ruling found her guilty of fraudulent administration in the case regarding irregularities in public works during her administration.
The highest court stated that there was a sustained scheme between 2003 and 2015. According to the ruling, it was led by Cristina herself and carried out together with close officials.
The scheme sought to benefit businessman Lázaro Báez with rigged bids, overpricing, and projects that were never completed.
The Supreme Court confirmed the conviction of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and Yanina Latorre did not remain silent. From her show on América TV, she delivered a very harsh live statement.
The host celebrated the court ruling and directly targeted the former president: "A better era begins, without corrupt people".
This Tuesday, June 10, Latorre opened her show Sálvese quien Pueda with a clear and forceful message. "Hello, comrades, better said than ever, on a historic day", she began.
