The National Meteorological Service issued a yellow alert for extreme cold that is in effect today in several areas of 13 Argentine provinces. This warning covers areas of Buenos Aires, excluding the AMBA, as well as La Pampa, San Luis, Córdoba, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Chaco, Corrientes, Misiones, Formosa, Salta, and Jujuy.
Yellow level alerts indicate that conditions may be dangerous for health, especially for the most vulnerable groups. These include children, people over 65 years old, and those suffering from chronic illnesses.
