River continues to reorganize its squad in this transfer market and has already finalized a new departure. Santiago Lencina, one of the players who will not be considered by Eduardo Coudet, will continue his career at Burgos in Spain, which has already reached an agreement with the Núñez club to incorporate him on loan.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder will be loaned for one season and will travel to the European country in the coming days to undergo a medical examination and sign his contract with the team that competes in the Spanish Second Division.

The operation includes a purchase option for 50% of the player's rights, although the Millonario secured a buy-back clause that will allow them to reclaim him if Burgos decides to exercise that option. In this way, the Millonario maintains control over the future of one of the youth players who emerged from their lower divisions.

The main objective of the loan is for Lencina to gain continuity and experience in European football, with the possibility of returning to La Banda if his sporting development convinces the management.

With this transfer, the midfielder becomes one more of the players leaving the group of marginalized footballers from the professional squad, who have been training separately for weeks while the club seeks to resolve their situation before the market closes. His departure adds to that of Ian Subiabre, who was loaned to Tigre, and is part of the renewal process being carried out by River.

In this context, the future of other players who are also not part of the coaching staff's plans remains to be defined, including Fabricio Bustos, Germán Pezzella, Giuliano Galoppo, Matías Galarza Fonda, Kevin Castaño, and Matías Viña, as well as Kendry Páez, who will return to Chelsea.

While the management continues to negotiate both incoming and outgoing transfers, River seeks to reduce the squad and find destinations for several players who will not have a place in the sporting project for the rest of the season.

Lencina's numbers at River

Since his official integration into the first team of the Millonario at the beginning of 2025 (in August 2024 he had played only a couple of minutes in a match against Unión), the player from Corzuela has played 1,116 minutes, spread over 31 matches, in which he scored 3 goals, did not provide assists, and received 3 yellow cards.
