YouTube confirmed an important update for its subscribers in the United States. Starting in early 2027, those who pay for YouTube Premium will receive the ad-supported version of Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, at no additional cost.
Peacock Premium, the ad-supported option, costs $11 per month or $110 per year. Including it within YouTube Premium represents a tangible benefit for users who already pay for the video service membership.
There will also be the option to upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus, the ad-free variant, although that upgrade will come at an extra cost. Meanwhile, YouTube Premium raised its prices in June: the individual plan is now $16 per month and the family plan is $27.
Before 2027 arrives, YouTube users will be able to add Peacock Premium as an additional option through YouTube Primetime Channels. That option will be available sometime this summer, and the ad-free version has already been offered since last month.
An expanding alliance
This package is part of a broader relationship between YouTube and NBCUniversal. The media company, which Comcast plans to spin off as an independent entity, will also bring some live sports events to the NBC Sports channel on YouTube.
