La Plata Refinery of YPF was recognized as "Refinery of the Year" at the latest edition of the Latin America Refining Technology Conference (LARTC), organized by the World Refining Association. This award honors the innovation, efficiency, and performance of one of the region's most significant energy complexes.
The industrial complex, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next December 23, has established itself as the largest refinery in the country and one of the most important in Latin America. Currently, La Plata produces 41% of the gasoline and 39% of the diesel consumed in Argentina.
Recognition for transformation
Horacio Marín, president and CEO of YPF, highlighted the effort made in recent years: "When I arrived at YPF, I committed to enhancing the value of La Plata refinery. In a year and a half, we've managed to position ourselves alongside the best in the world. This award confirms that path and fills me with pride for what we're building."
