Andrónico Rodríguez didn't attend the meeting he himself requested with Luis Arce.

Those who attended the regime's meeting attributed Rodríguez's absence to an order from Evo Morales

The president of the Senate, Andrónico Rodríguez, did not attend the meeting convened by the Government to address the economic crisis and ensure the general elections in August. His absence caused criticism among the politicians who attended the meeting, who accused him of lacking commitment to dialogue.

Some claim that his absence is due to a political strategy. Others believe he seeks to distance himself from the Government without breaking with the party. It has also been mentioned that he did not attend on orders from the coca grower leaderEvo Morales.

Rodríguez justified his absence by arguing that the meeting lacked a technical focus and should have been centered exclusively on economic matters. He proposed a meeting with the Executive, the Legislative, and financial organizations to define the fate of the pending credits.

From the Government, several officials criticized his decision. Minister Eduardo del Castillo suggested that his absence was due to pressures from Evo Morales, who, according to him, prohibited him from attending to avoid a rapprochement between MAS and the Government. Eva Copa also accused him of not acting independently.

The mayor of El Alto stated that Rodríguez is conditioned by his political environment and that his loyalty to Morales prevents him from making autonomous decisions. According to Copa, his absence demonstrates a lack of interest in the country's situation, prioritizing party conflicts over national well-being.

During the meeting, twelve key points were agreed upon, including ensuring the elections and approving the credits stalled in the Legislative Assembly. However, Rodríguez's absence left doubts about the Senate's commitment to these agreements.

The meeting took place despite his absence and concluded with the signing of a twelve-point document. Among these points, it was agreed to ensure the elections and approve thestalled credits in the Legislative Assembly. However, Rodríguez's absence left doubts about the Senate's commitment to these agreements.

The president of the Senate replied by highlighting the legislative work. He assured that more than 35 credit-related bills have been approved. He explained that the low execution of these resources is a technical problem and insisted that a different approach is necessary to solve the crisis.

From the opposition, Amparo Ballivián criticized his absence, arguing that in democracy, dialogue is essential. Jorge Tuto Quiroga was more severe, asserting that Rodríguez doesn't make decisions without Evo Morales's approval. Quiroga added that Rodríguez's lack of autonomy evidences the control the former dictator exerts over MAS.

Meanwhile, Evo Morales also spoke about the meeting. He described it as an insult and a distraction and assured that the meeting did not solve the country's structural problems. He cynically questioned the management of Luis Arce and his ministers and insisted that indebtedness is not a real solution to the economic crisis.

Rodríguez insisted on the need for a technical approach to solve the crisis and proposed a new meeting with this objective. In his request, Rodríguez indicated that financial organizations must also participate in this debate. However, his dependent relationship with Morales continues to raise doubts about his ability to act in favor of the country.

The Government reiterated that Rodríguez should have participated in the meeting and highlighted the importance of dialogue to unlock the pending credits. Meanwhile, economic uncertainty persists, with a shortage of dollars and fuel affecting the population.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a 12-point document. It was also agreed to reject any attempt to shorten the mandate of MAS's Luis Arce and ensure the holding of general elections in August. The request to shield the disastrous management of the regime arises from the fear that social unrest may be triggered by the crisis.

Additionally, following the regime's demands, the Legislative Assembly was urged to approve the stalled credits. These are required by the regime to face the economic crisis that its own management has caused.

Despite the commitment made at the meeting, sectors critical of the Government questioned the effectiveness of the agreements. They argued that they do not address structural solutions to the crisis and that the lack of dollars, fuel, and employment remains a central concern for the population.
