Carolina Jaramillo, a communicator and political scientist, assumed the position of official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic as of June 2. Her appointment marked the return of a key figure to channel the Executive's messages after three years without a direct spokesperson from Carondelet.
With a background in institutions such as the National Assembly, the Ministry of Defense, and international organizations, Jaramillo has demonstrated experience in strategic communication. Her appointment aims to provide immediate and transparent responses to the media and the public, consolidating the political message of the current administration.
During the first months of Daniel Noboa's government, the spokesperson role was divided between the Minister of Government, José de la Gasca, and the Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld. However, the expansion of the public agenda required an exclusive spokesperson, especially in the face of the country's institutional and social challenges.
