Ecuadorians decided between stability with Noboa and González's socialism
Citizen participation in Ecuador reached 83.76% during the presidential runoff, showing a high democratic commitment. The electoral day proceeded normally and without major incidents, according to Diana Atamaint, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
In this crucial election, voters chose between the continuity of President Daniel Noboa, identified with practical center-right policies, and the return to socialism proposed by Luisa González, representative of Rafael Correa's Citizen Revolution. Both candidates led markedly different campaigns, highlighting two opposing models for the country.
"Congratulations to the Ecuadorian people for turning out massively," expressed Atamaint at the close of voting, highlighting the country's democratic commitment. Preliminary results began to be released from 6:00 pm, showing a society clearly divided between two political visions.

The runoff took place amid social and economic challenges, with Noboa offering stability and clear proposals for economic development. Meanwhile, González's socialist project raised concerns due to the instability and economic crises attributed to Correa's era in previous years.
The high electoral turnout evidenced the importance citizens assign to choosing the model of government. The expectation now revolves around the official count, which will define Ecuador's political course for the coming years.
