The outgoing director of National Intelligence of the United States, Tulsi Gabbard, declassified a series of documents late Thursday that expose Dr. Anthony Fauci's role in funding dangerous "gain of function" research conducted in a Wuhan laboratory linked to the origin of Covid-19.
In a video posted on social media platform X, Gabbard stated that the intelligence documents demonstrate that Fauci, who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, attempted to conceal that the virus originated from a lab leak and also lied to Congress when he testified under oath in 2024.
"The tactics used to hide the truth are taken directly from the 'deep state' strategy manual: politicized and selfish leaders like Dr. Fauci covered up their own irregularities and abuses of power, manipulated intelligence, lied to Congress, and undermined a duly elected president by restricting his access to vital data needed to keep the country safe," stated the official from the Trump administration.

The investigation contains three central points:
That Fauci allegedly funded risky coronavirus research linked to major pharmaceutical companies and the search for "universal vaccines" valued at trillions of dollars.
That the former official pressured the Intelligence Community to falsely determine that the virus had an animal and natural origin.
That he used his position as the nation's official "expert" during the pandemic to promote lies, misinformation, and censorship.
Furthermore, the report indicates that the doctor used his power to censor, marginalize, and persecute those who opposed his conclusions. Among the cases cited in the files, one stands out: a contractor who was fired just days after coming forward to the Intelligence Office as a whistleblower. "The message was clear: disagreeing with the manipulated finding would derail their careers," details a fragment of the declassified documents.
The text also reaffirms that Fauci lied to Congress under oath in 2024 when, during a hearing, he denied having any connection with U.S. intelligence agencies that were making efforts to conceal the virus's true origin.
Due to the complex illness affecting her husband, Thursday was Gabbard's last day at the helm of the intelligence agency. Her position will be temporarily filled by Bill Pulte, who will serve until Attorney Jay Clayton - officially nominated for the position by Trump a few days ago - has his confirmation hearing and vote in the Senate.
