The president Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he canceled the electric vehicle mandate implemented during Joe Biden's administration.
"GREAT DAY FOR AUTO WORKERS AND CAR BUYERS IN THE U.S.! I just approved new Fuel Economy Standards that CANCEL the ridiculous Electric Vehicle Mandate of 'Sleepy' Joe Biden and Pete Boot-EDGE-EDGE", the president posted on Truth Social.
"The Democrats cost our great automakers billions, forced Americans to buy cars they never wanted, and spent billions on chargers that were never built", the president continued.
"These new standards will eliminate waste in car manufacturing in the United States. That means LOWER PRICES, saving families thousands of dollars on a new, beautiful, and safe car," Trump stated, asserting that the vehicles produced will no longer be the "environmental monsters" that were being built.

"All manufacturers, from General Motors to Ford and Stellantis, have called me wanting to build here, and now they can!", he indicated. Under my administration, more than $100 billion is being invested in the American automotive industry, and that's just the beginning. Plants are coming back and jobs are returning to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, South Carolina, and across our country," the Republican leader declared.
The disastrous green policies of Bidenrequired the automotive sector to average about 50 miles per gallon for passenger cars and light trucks by 2031, in order to boost the production and sale of electric vehicles.
This measure was described by Trump and his administration's Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, as "ridiculous and very costly". "Biden's burdensome regulations caused car prices to soar by more than 25%, and in one case, they rose by 18% in a single year," the head of state stated last year.
"The biggest scam in U.S. history: the new green scam. It's a crusade to end the gasoline car [...] And people want the gasoline car. They want everything. They want electric. They want to have many alternatives. But they do want the gasoline car. Right now, it leads preference by a lot", Trump reflected.
