After refusing to testify before Congress, a Senate committee filed criminal charges against the Democratic doctor with the Justice Department

The Senate Committee on National Security and Governmental Affairs approved a resolution to declare the doctor Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer senators' questions last week. Democrats fought to block this initiative, but in the end, the vote followed party lines and ended 8 to 5.

In a hearing that went viral and exposed Fauci's crimes during the COVID pandemic, the former Biden health official invoked his Fifth Amendment right over 100 times while Republican senators questioned him about his numerous lies over the years.

The Democratic doctor even refused to answer basic questions posed by Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, such as what day of the week it was, what color his tie was, and what color the carpet was.

The new legal landscape for Fauci is as follows: since the resolution has already been approved by the members of the Governmental Affairs Committee, the Senate will send the criminal complaint to the Department of Justice and ask it to proceed with the formal charges against the Democratic doctor.

Rand Paul's Statements

"One million Americans died, and I think they deserve to know the truth. Anthony Fauci has defended dangerous gain-of-function research for two decades now," commented Republican Senator Rand Paul on the matter.

"He was granted a pardon. Interestingly, the pardon begins in 2014. That was when funding for the Wuhan lab started. So I think he should answer questions," Paul added, referring to the preemptive pardon that Biden granted the official in 2025 before he leaves the presidency.

"As for invoking the Fifth Amendment when you have a pardon, all you have to do is tell the truth, just not commit a new crime. But if we granted him immunity for not telling the truth, what value would, in your opinion, his testimony have? That's why I believe the American people do deserve to know this," concluded the Kentucky politician.
