The far-left pro-Palestine activist Adam Hamawy, with ties to an Al Qaeda terrorist, won the primary elections for the Democratic Party in a key district of New Jersey. As it is a Democratic stronghold, the candidate who wins the opposing primary is guaranteed a seat in the United States Congress.
Hamawy, a 56-year-old doctor born in Egypt and a former Army trauma surgeon, received support from far-left streamer Hasan Piker and Senator Bernie Sanders in his bid to reach Capitol Hill. The candidate has ties to Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka the "Blind Sheikh," whose followers carried out the car bomb attack on the Twin Towers in 1993.
An investigation by Jewish Insider exposed the relationship between Hamawy and Abdel-Rahman, which dates back to a road trip they took together to Detroit in 1991. Additionally, Hamawy served as a translator for the extremist leader during a press conference in which he denied any involvement in the 1993 attack in New York. Later, in 1995, Hamawy testified in defense of the sheikh during the trial in which Abdel-Rahman was convicted of planning a series of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
