Trump warned about the advance of communism in the US following the victory of Mamdani's candidates in New York

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned American voters this Friday about the advance of communism after several candidates supported by far-left Mayor Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic Party primaries in New York this week and defeated two incumbent Democratic representatives.

"Communism is very easy to sell. It destroys everything, but it's very easy. I'll be honest, I think I would be the best communist in history," Trump commented at the Faith and Freedom Coalition Policy Conference in Washington D.C. "I would give free rent... From now on, anyone who wants a house, don't worry: just choose the house you want. Everyone gets free food. Everything is free from this moment on. Everyone is going to vote for me."

"The problem is that, after two or three years, the country is a disaster zone. The country fails," the president continued. "It always happens. It's so easy to sell. That first year, wow, you're the most popular. It's happening right now in New York and California. But you'll start living in misery. There will be no food. There will be no housing... There will be no law and order."

"This is what happens," the leader added. "It has been happening for thousands of years, under different names," the Republican leader concluded.

Mamdani's latest madness: freeze rents for two years

Trump's warning also comes after a New York City housing board yielded to Mamdani's pressure and voted on Thursday to freeze rent prices for a period of two years. This communist measure affects approximately one million apartments that already have regulated rent, and will apply to tenants with one- or two-year leases.

Mamdani, who said during his campaign that he would implement a price control system in the city and that supermarkets should be government-managed, has appointed six of the nine members of the board responsible for regulating rents since taking office
