The President of the United States, Donald Trump, appointed Stephen Miller as the new Chief of Staff of the White House, in a decisive move that anticipates the deepening of the Trumpist agenda for the next two years
The appointment places the main ideologue of his MAGA political project at the helm of the government's operational structure, a decision that comes just days after the Republican Party's significant electoral defeat in the midterm elections
Miller will replace Susie Wiles starting Monday, November 9, 2026. The president himself confirmed the appointment through his social media platform Truth Social, where he highlighted the official's background and his closeness to the administration

“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump administration and one of my most trusted advisors, will assume the role of Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026,” the president wrote. He also thanked Wiles for her “outstanding work”
Miller's selection is not coincidental. Trump is betting on one of his most loyal and ideologically aligned collaborators to deepen his political agenda in the second half of his term
After losing control of the House of Representatives and the Senate to the Democrats, the president seeks to strengthen internal leadership in the White House, accelerate the implementation of his promises, and regain the support of disenchanted sectors of the ruling party
