Trump inaugurated the celebrations for the 250th birthday of the United States: "The American dream is alive again"

President Donald Trump inaugurated on Wednesday the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States with an event at the National Mall, where he announced major monumental projects and opened The Great American State Fair, a 16-day event that will begin tomorrow and will feature pavilions representing the 56 states and territories of the country.

"The 250th year of the United States is set for an economic boom like no other nation has ever seen", the president emphasized. "Nothing like the United States of America has ever existed, and together, we are making it greater, better, stronger, and much more exceptional than ever," Trump stated during his speech.

The leader considered that the founding of the U.S. in 1776 changed the course of history and praised the Declaration of Independence for proclaiming the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He also honored the farmers, soldiers, merchants, and craftsmen who came together to defend their families and their freedoms against tyranny.

"This evening, as we stand on the eve of our 250th year of independence, I am thrilled to declare that the United States is back", Trump said. "As you very well know, not long ago we were a dead country. We were dead," the Republican leader pointed out. "We are respected by all. No one mocks us anymore. Two years ago they laughed. Now, we are the most respected anywhere."

"Under our leadership, the United States will also be a nation that dares to dream and build again," Trump assured. "The American dream is alive again. That is something no one thought would be said after going through those last four years of incompetence", the magnate added.

Trump invoked the spirit of the founders and historical figures of the nation and cited battlefields from the War of Independence, stating that generations of Americans had answered Patrick Henry's call to seek "liberty or... death".

This struggle, Trump highlighted, allowed the U.S. to become a country that expanded westward, colonized the frontier, built railroads and highways, raised skyscrapers, invented the airplane, won two world wars, defeated fascism and communism, and guided humanity into space.

"Now we are expanding the glory of American freedom toward a horizon that has never been seen before," the president asserted. "We have never reached as high as we are reaching now. This is our heritage. This is our history, and this is the destiny of the United States: to be the greatest and most incredible country that has ever walked the Earth", he concluded.
