Following the directive given by President Donald Trump, the Department of Defense declassified a sixth batch of files on UFOs and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) this Friday, which includes a surprising 1952 film of bright objects over the sky of Utah that some viewers describe as a swarm of drones.
This material dates back to July 2, 1952 and was filmed in the town of Tremonton by Navy petty officer Delbert C. Newhouse, an aerial photographer traveling with his family who reported seeing a group of bright aerial objects, later handing the film over to the Air Force.
The new batch also includes two videos recorded with a cellphone by an officer in Colorado in October 2023 and other documents where federal agents describe what they call "mothership orbs" that released smaller objects near a sensitive government site.
The declassified files show investigators searching for an explanation for the objects seen in Tremonton, noting that the lights resembled balloons in some respects or could be seagulls. A representative from a company stated that the objects appeared too bright and moved too quickly.
The Navy photo lab dedicated about 1,000 hours to analyzing the film and concluded that the objects did not match aircraft, birds, or balloons, and appeared to be self-luminous. The case remains unsolved. In 1952, the unit reported that approximately 20% of the 800 UFO cases it analyzed remained unexplained.
