Speaking with reporters on Friday night, President Donald Trump warned that the United States could reactivate and significantly expand the "Freedom Project" in the Strait of Hormuz if the Iranian terrorist regime rejects the framework currently being discussed to reach a final agreement.
The White House is still awaiting a formal response from Tehran to the proposed memorandum of understanding, which is intended to establish a framework for broader negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, the lifting of sanctions, and the reopening of trade routes in Hormuz.
"I’m supposed to receive a letter tonight, so we’ll see how that goes," Trump hinted, also stating that if the negotiations collapse, he could reactivate and significantly expand the Freedom Project, the naval operation launched by the U.S. military this week to assist commercial vessels in transiting through the Strait of Hormuz that was suspended due to ongoing negotiations.
"We will take a different route if everything is not signed and finalized," the president confirmed. "I think the Freedom Project is good, but I also think we have other ways to do it," he continued. "We could return to the Freedom Project if things don’t happen, but it will be a 'Freedom Project Plus', meaning the Freedom Project plus other things."

Fire Returns to the Strait of Hormuz
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Friday that its forces destroyed two Iranian-flagged tankers that attempted to violate the U.S. naval blockade by entering Iranian ports along the Gulf of Oman. The Command also confirmed that its forces disabled another Iranian-flagged tanker that tried to break the naval blockade.
These attacks occurred a day after Iranians attacked three U.S. Navy destroyers -the USS Truxtun, the USS Rafael Peralta, and the USS Mason- that were transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, prompting U.S. forces to respond in self-defense by attacking military facilities and naval infrastructure of the Islamic regime.
Trump wrote on his social media that the Iranian vessels were "completely destroyed" and that "there was no damage to the three destroyers, but there was significant damage to the Iranian attackers." The president reiterated that if Iran refuses to finalize an agreement, military operations will increase. "If they don’t accept, the bombing begins, and it will be, unfortunately, at a level and intensity much greater than before," he warned.
