The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has revealed the existence of the special unit "Nili", formed after Hamas's invasion on October 7, 2023. Its mission: to locate and eliminate the terrorists who directly participated in the massacre and the kidnappings of Israeli civilians.
In a joint statement, Shin Bet and IDF intelligence explained that the unit was created immediately after the attack and is made up of veteran intelligence agents, reassigned for this specific objective.
For two years, Shin Bet teams, military intelligence, Southern Command, and the Air Force have worked in a coordinated manner to identify, track, and target those responsible.
Noa Argamani's kidnappers were identified and eliminated
According to the report, "Nili" has succeeded in eliminating thousands of terrorists at various locations in the Gaza Strip. Among them are all Hamas members involved in the kidnapping of Noa Argamani, Avinatan Or, and Eitan Mor, abducted during the Nova festival massacre.
The first of the kidnappers was killed in March, and the last on August 22, reflecting the ongoing commitment of Israeli forces to bring every perpetrator to justice—or neutralize them.
Shin Bet sources emphasized that the unit's objective goes beyond isolated operations: it is a sustained mission of justice and deterrence.
"The message is clear: anyone who participates in an invasion or attack against Israel signs their own sentence", they stated.
The name of the unit, "Nili," evokes the historic Jewish underground movement from the time of the British Mandate, a symbol of intelligence, resistance, and loyalty to the people of Israel.
That same inspiration guides the agents who, from anonymity, work to prevent new attacks and protect Israeli citizens.
The public revelation of "Nili" also seeks to send a message to Israeli society: that the State continues to fulfill its promise to pursue those responsible for October 7, tirelessly and without geographical limits.
Two years after the deadliest attack in Israel's modern history, Operation "Nili" represents a combination of technological precision, human intelligence, and moral determination.
For Israel, this is not just about revenge, but about restoring national security and reaffirming the principle that every Israeli life matters.
