In a new and painful confirmation of the humanitarian tragedy caused by terrorist groups in Gaza, Hamas announced that on Thursday night it will hand over the remains of an Israeli citizen who was kidnapped during the war.
According to the statement released by the organization, the Al-Quds and Al-Qassam brigades—the armed wings of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas—claimed to have found the body in the Moraj area, north of Khan Yunis, and will deliver it as part of the recent exchange agreements.
The announcement once again brings to the forefront the situation of the four Israelis whose bodies remain held in Gaza: Meny Godard, Ran Gvili, Dror Or, and Sudthisak Rinthalak.
According to sources cited by the Israeli public channel KAN, both Hamas and Islamic Jihad know precisely the whereabouts of the victims' remains, which reinforces the demand from the families and the State of Israel to require their immediate return.
