The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that they had neutralized several Hamas terrorists who were attempting to cross the so-called Yellow Line in Gaza, an operational boundary whose crossing constitutes a direct violation of the current ceasefire agreement.
According to the army, there were two separate incidents in which the infiltrators posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops deployed in the area.
In the first episode, the IDF detected a terrorist in the Khan Yunis area who was advancing dangerously toward Israeli soldiers. After confirming the threat, the individual was killed.

In a second case, in an area not disclosed for operational reasons, two other terrorists were identified attempting to cross the Yellow Line and were also eliminated.
Israeli forces emphasized that these attempts are not isolated. During the past week, Hamas has violated the ceasefire on multiple occasions, attempting to infiltrate and rearm within territory controlled by Israel.
Among the recent findings was even a rocket launcher aimed at the Jewish state, evidence that the terrorist organization continues to operate with offensive intentions despite the calm agreement.
Additionally, Israeli officials warned that Hamas is trying to reestablish military capabilities within the Strip instead of moving toward demilitarization, one of the pillars for achieving any stable solution for the region.
Maximum alert in the north after the elimination of Hezbollah's military chief
While the southern front remains tense, Israel also raised the alert level on its northern border. On Sunday, the IDF carried out a precision operation that resulted in the elimination of Haytham Ali Tabatabai, Hezbollah's Chief of Staff and considered the organization's second-in-command. The attack in Beirut targeted one of the top leaders of the pro-Iranian group's military apparatus.
Meanwhile, the possibility of reprisals taking advantage of winter weather conditions—such as dense fog and reduced visibility—the army launched a surprise exercise on Monday called "Shield and Strength", aimed at assessing the readiness of the Northern Command units.
The maneuver, ordered by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, began with an unexpected test for Division 210, responsible for responding to a sudden escalation.
During the exercise, a significant increase in troop movement was recorded in the Golan and surrounding areas, as well as sounds of explosions and aerial activity, the military spokesperson reported.
