Trump announced the imminent release of 10 hostages by Hamas

'We've already recovered most of the hostages. Another ten will be coming very soon, and we hope to finish this quickly,' he said

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that another ten hostages will be released "very soon" by Hamas, as part of negotiations aimed at achieving a 60-day ceasefire between Israel and the terrorist group.

"We've already recovered most of the hostages. Another ten will be coming very soon, and we hope to finish this quickly", Trump said during a dinner with Republican senators.

Additionally, he praised his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, whom he described as "fantastic".

The current ceasefire proposal includes the release of ten live hostages, as well as the return of the remains of eighteen others. In exchange, Israel would have to release an as-yet-unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners.

Mossad Director David Barnea was in Washington this week, where he met with Witkoff. There, Barnea sought U.S. support to promote the relocation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza to countries such as Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Libya.

Trump, who on July 1 stated on his social network that Israel had already accepted the "necessary conditions" for a truce, is confident that the agreement will be imminent.

A few days ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House and personally handed Trump a copy of his Nobel Peace Prize nomination letter.
