Biden financed Netanyahu's opponents with taxpayers' money

An investigation by the United States Congress sparked a major controversy after revealing that federal funds may have been used to support protests against the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Unlike the current president, Donald Trump, who defends Israeli democracy, Biden supported movements that sought to overthrow the elected PM.

The report, presented by the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees, states that during the Biden-Harris administration, grants were awarded to organizations that "contributed directly and indirectly to the protests against the judicial reform in Israel in 2023".

Among the groups that benefited are Blue and White Future and the Movement for Quality Government in Israel, both with active participation in opposing the reforms proposed by Netanyahu.

According to the investigation, these activities could violate Israeli law, which restricts the political actions of nonprofit organizations.

However, the implications go beyond the internal Israeli judicial debate. The document also warns that the U.S. administration may have indirectly funded organizations with ties to terrorist groups designated by the U.S., such as Hamas.

The NGO Bayader Association for Environment and Development, based in Gaza, received nearly one million dollars in U.S. funds since 2016, despite having held joint events with Hamas leaders, even days before the October 7 massacre.

Likud party members described these findings as "a deliberate attempt to undermine Israel's democratically and legitimately elected government".

In Netanyahu's own words, it was "external interference that encouraged civil disobedience and deepened social division."

One thing is clear: fortunately, Americans voted with their heads and didn't choose Kamala Harris as president.
