The Argentine president denounced the hypocrisy of the organization that condemns the Jewish state but protects dictatorships

Argentine President Javier Milei delivered a forceful message in defense of Israel during his address at the United Nations General Assembly, harshly criticizing what he described as a double standard by the international organization.
Milei accused the UN of undermining Israel, "the only liberal democracy in the Middle East", while granting legitimacy to dictatorial regimes that systematically violate human rights.
"Israel is unfairly singled out while bloody dictatorships are given a platform", he declared, directly pointing to countries such as Cuba and Venezuela, which are present on the UN Human Rights Council. He also denounced the hypocrisy of allowing states that "punish women for showing their skin" to hold seats on committees dedicated to gender equality.

The Argentine leader emphasized that the organization's policy contradicts its own founding principles of promoting peace, freedom, and human rights. In this context, he held a meeting with Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, to reinforce the message of cooperation between both countries.
Milei also recalled the terrorist attacks against the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992 and against AMIA in 1994, highlighting that Argentina knows firsthand the pain caused by Islamist terrorism. He said that this memory reinforces his unwavering commitment to Israel's security and to the global fight against terrorism.
Since he took office in December, Milei has consolidated a foreign policy strongly aligned with Jerusalem.
In July, his government formally designated Hamas as a terrorist organization, ordering the freezing of its financial assets in Argentina after the massacre perpetrated on October 7 against Israeli civilians.
"If the United Nations wishes to return to the principles that motivated its creation, it can count on Argentina's full support", Milei stated, before closing his speech with his now famous motto: "Long live freedom, damn it!"
Milei's statement reaffirms Argentina's historic shift toward clear and unequivocal support for the State of Israel, in contrast to the lukewarmness of other governments in the face of the constant threats faced by the only democracy in the Middle East.
