This would serve as a support point for future international stabilization missions in the region

According to an investigation published by the Israeli outlet Shomrim, the United States is reportedly considering the construction of a large military base near the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
The project, still in its preliminary phase, would have the capacity to house thousands of U.S. soldiers and would serve as a support point for future international missions aimed at stabilizing the region.
Although sources from the Israeli army stated that they do not have precise information about the plan, some analysts believe that the proposal reflects the growing U.S. commitment to regional security and its willingness to ensure stability following Hamas’s military defeat.

If implemented, the base would allow Washington to expand its capacity for direct action on the ground and reduce its dependence on third parties—including Hamas, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority—in managing humanitarian and security matters in Gaza.
This strategic cooperation is part of the ongoing coordination between the Israel Defense Forces and United States Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees military operations in the Middle East.
At the end of October, a significant step had already been taken in that direction with the inauguration in Kiryat Gat of the new Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), where several hundred U.S. and Israeli officers work.
This center aims to streamline international cooperation on humanitarian, logistical, and security issues related to Gaza.
During his visit to the CMCC, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed that the complete disarmament and demilitarization of Hamas "will be achieved," emphasizing the importance of the alliance with the United States in the new phase of post-conflict reconstruction and security.
The possible creation of a large U.S. military base on Israeli soil, still under consideration, would consolidate Israel as Washington’s main strategic ally in the Middle East and would strengthen cooperation in defense, intelligence, and regional stability.
For Israel, it would also be an unequivocal sign of trust and support from its most important partner on the international stage.
