US tariffs on Israel will be only 15%, among the lowest in the world.

From Jerusalem, they stated that the rate reflects the positive dialogue that exists with Washington

Israel's Ministry of Finance highlighted that the imposition of tariffs by the United States on Israeli products will be "only 15%", a relatively low number compared to other countries.

The Israeli government stated that the rate reflects "the positive dialogue" that exists with Washington.

"The tariff rate imposed by the United States on Israel is among the lowest, and it's even lower than the one announced for our country on April 2," said a statement from the Ministry of Finance.

"Including Israel within the group that has the lowest tariffs reflects the positive dialogue and the commitment between Israel and the Trump administration. These discussions are ongoing, with the goal of reaching a comprehensive and improved agreement," they emphasized.

It's important to remember that on April 2, through an executive order, the Trump administration announced that it would impose tariffs of 17% on Israeli products.

It should be noted that Trump also announced tariffs of up to 41% for dozens of countries in what constitutes a significant escalation in his protectionist approach.

Despite the friction that may result from this measure, Israeli authorities remain optimistic.

In Jerusalem, officials expect that the ongoing negotiations will allow the effects to be mitigated and, eventually, the tariffs to be eliminated if a new bilateral agreement is reached that addresses U.S. interests in trade and security.
