The brothers Miguel Ángel and Omar Treviño Morales, leaders of Los Zetas known as Z40 and Z42 were extradited this Thursday to the USA.
The information was confirmed by the Webb County Sheriff's Office in Texas. The office also alerted the residents of Nuevo Laredo and other municipalities in Tamaulipas, due to the criminal incidence in the border state.

A couple of hours earlier, Z-40's lawyer, Juan Manuel Delgado, was interviewed by journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva. He stated that his legal defense was not aware of Miguel Ángel's extradition.
"As far as we know, there is no kind of transfer to the United States of America. An extradition would be impossible"
asserted the lawyer on Thursday morning.
He detailed that Z-40's extradition process was in the "judicial opinion" phase.
That is, it was still pending for a judge to issue an opinion to corroborate whether it was feasible to extradite him or not. However, shortly before 11:00 a.m., the Webb County Sheriff confirmed his extradition as well as his brother's.
