The United States has confirmed a tightening of migration verification processes by expanding the review of social media as an integral part of visa procedures for those wishing to enter its territory from Mexico.
Since 2019, the U.S. government has required applicants to provide their social media accounts on the forms. Now, this policy has been reinforced, seeking to leverage all available information to identify potential risks to the country's public security.

Active supervision throughout the entire process
The verification doesn't end with the submission of documents. It extends from the initial application, through the visa adjudication, until its expiration. This allows authorities to monitor changes in the behavior or activities of holders.
Tammy Bruce, spokesperson for the Department of State, stated that the United States will use "all available tools" to especially examine those applying for student visas.
"Every country has the right to know who is trying to enter and what that person has done. This is nothing new," Bruce added.
