IMSS and ISSSTE daycare centers under investigation for child abuse in Chihuahua

Three female workers involved in sexual assaults on minors are arrested; 71 open cases are added

The State Attorney General's Office of Chihuahua confirmed the arrest of three women accused of participating in cases of child sexual abuse in at least five daycare centers in this border city.

The detainees worked in different childcare facilities, both private ones subcontracted by the IMSS and public ones by the ISSSTE. All of them are linked to investigations initiated since January of this year.

The victims, mostly children between two and six years old, were identified after reports from parents who noticed behavioral changes and disturbing accounts in their children.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Attention to Women Victims of Crime for Gender Reasons (FEM) has already initiated 71 investigation files for child abuse and sexual assault.

With these three arrests, five people have been arrested for these crimes, while an outstanding arrest warrant remains active due to an injunction filed by a sixth implicated person.

A shared responsibility

Although the authorities have promised justice, many questions persist. Parents demand permanent audits in childcare facilities and the cancellation of agreements with institutions that do not guarantee safety.

The scandal has revealed serious failures in quality control and supervision in childcare centers under state contracts.

The gender narrative in question

Beyond the general outrage, the case raises an uncomfortable debate: why is it insisted that violence is an exclusively male phenomenon?

The rise of gender ideology has promoted the notion that women are always victims. However, this case demonstrates that violence has no gender. Denying this reality, experts point out, is a dangerous omission.

Pro-family organizations demand a review of the biased approach in public policies. "When it is minimized that women can also be aggressors, the most defenseless are left vulnerable," declared a spokesperson for the organization Family and Society.

The case remains open. Authorities do not rule out more arrests in the coming days.
