Hitmen from Jalisco attacked members of the National Guard in Casimiro Castillo
Jalisco has once again become a scene of escalating violence, where the exchange of gunfire is a common denominator in the area, and the government has shown little response capacity.

The ambush is part of the territorial dispute that the CJNG maintains in the region, while the authorities remain unable to controltheviolence.
CJNG set vehicles on fire and blocked roads after the attack
After the confrontation, the hitmen blocked federal highway 80, one of the main routes in the region.

Casimiro Castillo: CJNG's criminal stronghold and war zone
Casimiro Castillo has become a key point for the CJNG, which controls the drugtraffickingroutesintheregion.
The area is a stronghold of the cartel led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "ElMencho," who has strengthened his presence in the region.
Despite the constant presence of the NationalGuardandtheArmy, the criminals continue tooperatewithtotalimpunity, executing blockades and attacks without fear of reprisals.
The inhabitants of the area have denounced the lack of effectiveresponsefromthestateandfederalgovernment, which is limited to reacting to the attacks.
The government still fails to curb violence in Jalisco
The confrontation in CasimiroCastillo adds to the long list of organizedcrimeattacks against security forces.
Jalisco remains one of the epicenters of violence in Mexico, while the federal government insists that the security strategy is working.
However, the narco-blockades, ambushes, and armed attacks continue tooccurwithtotalnormalcy, leaving the population in the middle of a war that the government refuses to acknowledge.
The government allows the CJNG to continue dominating the region, leaving citizens unprotected against the terror imposed by the cartel.
CasimiroCastillo is now a reflection of the failure of the securitypolicy, where organized crime imposes its law.
