First human case of avian flu detected in Mexico: a three-year-old girl in Durango

Health authorities confirmed the spread of avian influenza A(H5N1); the federal government hasn't issued an alert

Mexico confirmed its first human case of avian flu A (H5N1) in a three-year-old girl, resident of the state of Durango.  The case was confirmed by federal health authorities after a series of clinical analyses conducted in recent days.

The girl remains under medical observation, and so far no secondary infections have been reported.

Concern over lack of official response

Specialists have pointed out that the H5N1 virus has a high level of lethality in humans.
Despite this, the Health Secretariat hasn't issued clear statements or preventive alerts for the population.  The case was reported discreetly, without the presence of the federal health sector in the affected area.

The medical community demands transparent information and immediate measures. The risk of community transmission is low, but the lack of control can become a chain of omissions.  In rural areas like those in Durango, access to specialized medical care is limited.

Institutional silence generates uncertainty

Instead of responding clearly, the government seems to downplay the case. There are no conferences, school guidelines, or public prevention actions.  Parents and educational staff don't know what to do in the event of a possible outbreak.

Meanwhile, countries like the United States and Canada have reinforced controls for avian flu, Mexico hasn't updated its health policy.  The federal Health Secretariat has opted for a low profile, as if it were an isolated case without major consequences.

The confirmation of a human infection should set off all alarms.
But in the official narrative, crises only exist when they affect the government's image.  A three-year-old girl marks the beginning… and the State, once again, acts as if nothing is happening.

We must be prepared as a society, being careful as demonstrated with the COVID pandemic. The government always abandons its citizens, prioritizing its own well-being and that of itspolitical parasites.
