They captured a former Liconsa executive linked to SEGALMEX fraud.
One of the former executives linked to the SEGALMEX mega fraud, Hugo Buentello Carbonel, was arrested
Former LICONSA executive Hugo Buentello Carbonel was arrested accused of organized crime along with charges for his involvement in the mega fraud against Segalmex. Signing contracts for thousands of liters of milk that were never delivered to those who needed it.
He was also a supplier with his urban furniture brand "Graba y Arena". In at least six projects developed by Sedatu during Manuel López's administration.
Little by little, those responsible for the fraud are falling
Mexicans against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) confirmed that the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) recorded the arrest of Buentello Carbonell last Friday, April 11.
Sources consulted by MCCI claim that the former official was allegedly arrested upon leaving the United States embassy in Mexico.

In the arrest report, he is described as a man 5 feet 11 inches tall, medium build, gray hair, fair complexion, large nose, and thick eyebrows.
Mexicans against Corruption pushed for his arrest
In a report published on May 9, 2023, MCCI reported that between September 2019 and March 2021. Buentello Carbonell served as Deputy Director of Operations of Liconsa, a subsidiary of Segalmex responsible for the industrialization and distribution of milk in the country. From that position, he signed contracts that have been flagged for alleged irregularities. It is now known that Buentello Carbonel signed million-dollar contracts with ILAS Mexico.
A multinational company flagged by the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) as an accomplice in a money laundering network through complicity with the Venezuelan regime.
Coincidentally, Liconsa awarded a contract for more than 320 million pesos. The former official also signed a contract for the acquisition of 50,000 bags of powdered milk for 86 million pesos with Grupo Vicente Suárez 73 SA de CV.

As administrator of the contract between Liconsa and Vicente Suárez. Buentello Carbonell was responsible for ensuring that the 50,000 bags of powdered milk were delivered to Liconsa's facilities. To later be distributed in the network of community and rural stores that the agency has throughout the country. However, none of this happened.
This is at least a step forward in clarifying the material culprits of the fraud against SEGALMEX whose opaque embezzlement far exceeded Peña Nieto's Master Scam. That Manuel López was so tired of using as a shield to rob the people with impunity. Because as always in Mexico, bread and circuses for the people.
