The deputy from Morena, Pedro Haces Barba, has been the subject of controversy after details about his luxurious ranch, Bosque Lago, located at the foothills of the Ajusco, south of Mexico City, were revealed.
This property, which covers eight hectares, features a main hall of 1,080 square meters, used for events such as weddings, concerts, and political meetings. The rental price of the property ranges between 150,000 and 250,000 pesos, depending on the day of the week.

The origin of the ranch and Haces Barba's statements
When questioned about the origin of this property, Haces Barba stated that the ranch is an inheritance from his grandfather and that he has owned it for many years.
He emphasized that he has never been corrupt nor worked in the government, thus defending the legitimacy of his assets.

Republican austerity in doubt
However, the ostentation of this property contrasts with the "republican austerity" that Morena promotes as one of its essential principles.
While the party advocates for moderation and responsible use of resources, the display of luxurious properties by some of its members calls into question the consistency between discourse and practice.
