Defund anti-Christian, socialist, and woke universities

Mexico must take note and audit the public money that our universities spend

The sweat of the brows of 88% of the Mexican population—which is Christian—should in no way end up in taxes used to destroy our faith, our families, and traditions, in public universities, which are increasingly a hotbed of socialists, progressive-globalists, and woke activists.

Donald Trump, in his second term—initiated in 2025—has declared war on universities that betray Christian, family, and patriotic values. By freezing 2.2 billion dollars in federal funds and 60 million in contracts to Harvard, Trump targets the heart of the problem: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs, which are nothing more than a Trojan horse to impose socialist and anti-Christian ideologies.

Mexico must take note and audit the public money that our universities spend, immediately defunding any woke initiative that attacks our faith, our identity, and our sovereignty, and that seeks to establish, subliminally or explicitly, the socialism of the decadent “4T.” Like much of what Marx Arriaga has proposed (the outdated leftist who carries the penance in his name).

Harvard, with its 53.2 billion dollar endowment, is the emblem of higher education hijacked by progressive-globalism. Its DEI programs, which Trump demands to eliminate, promote divisive identity politics, prioritizing racial and gender quotas over merit.

These initiatives undermine the traditional family and Christian morality. How important it is that Trump demands external audits of academic departments and also sanctions for anti-Semitic protests disguised as activism. Harvard resists, claiming autonomy, but taxpayers are not obligated to fund its decadence.

But in Mexico, the outlook is equally concerning. UNAM, the University of Guadalajara, and other public institutions squander millions from the treasury on lectures, events, and projects that glorify ideologies and gender perspectives, socialism, and moral relativism. How much is spent on conferences that question the natural family as the sacred core of social unity? How many classrooms ridicule our Catholic faith?

It is time to audit every peso and defund any program that smells of DEI or anti-Christian, socialist, and woke agendas. Public money should train professionals who strengthen Mexico, not finance experiments that fragment us.

Trump is advancing in this important Cultural Counter-Revolution thrust. Columbia, under threat of losing 400 million dollars, has already yielded to similar demands, eliminating DEI programs and reforming admission policies. Cornell and Northwestern face cuts of 1 billion and 790 million, respectively, for not disciplining themselves. Order must be restored against old hegemonies of degeneration.

In Mexico, we need governors and legislators with the same determination: review university budgets, demand transparency, and cut the flow of resources to woke initiatives. Autonomy is not a blank check. UNAM has dodged audits, and UdeG has clashed with local governments seeking order, but the people deserve to know how their money is used.

The danger transcends internal spending. Mexican universities have maintained close relationships with entities like George Soros's Open Society, the UN—with its 2030 Agenda—and the Chinese Communist Party, through its Confucius Institutes. One would have to be very naive to assume that agendas are not being promoted in our educational institutions.

These influences and possible funding seek, at their core, a world without God, without a homeland, and without the natural family. Mexico must reject them and protect its classrooms from these socialist influences that disguise their poison as “progress.”

It is not censorship, it is justice. The money of Mexicans should reflect the values that unite us: faith, family, love of country, democracy. Trump, facing Harvard without fear, shows us the way. Mexico needs leaders who audit, supervise, and defund anti-Christian, socialist, and woke universities. If we do not act, we will continue paying for our own destruction.
