Violence in Mexico City once again shook the capital. On the night of February 9, an armed group attacked six people in the Tláhuac borough. The crime occurred in the neighborhood of San Miguel, Mixquic. Five people died at the scene, and a 20-year-old young man was left seriously injured.
The strikers arrived in a white van and fired without warning. Neighbors alerted the authorities after hearing the gunshots. Upon arrival, the police found three men and two women dead.

A direct attack without prior warning
The group attacked was socializing in the public street. Witnesses reported that the strikers got out of the van and opened fire immediately. The burst of gunfire lasted only a few seconds but left a deadly toll.
The perpetrators escaped at high speed. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) implemented an operation to locate them. However, so far there are no arrests.

Tláhuac, a point of persistent violence
The Tláhuac borough has been the scene of several violent incidents. The Tláhuac Cartel, led by Felipe de Jesús Pérez Luna, alias "El Ojos", dominated the area until 2017. After his death, clashes between criminal groups continued.
