Conflict grows between Rocío Nahle and Arturo Castagné; judge ordered a payment to the businessman

The businessman claims he wasn't notified and refuses to retract and pay the compensation ordered by a judge

The legal dispute between Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle and businessman Arturo Castagnéhas escalated in recent hours.The dispute originated during the campaign due to the revelation of alleged properties of the former federal official.

A district judge's ruling was announced, ordering the businessman to pay 14 million pesos for "moral damage." Castagné claimed that he was never legally notified and replied that he will not retract.

"I was never summoned to any hearing"; Castagné

According to local media, Judge Yuriria Zoraya López sentenced the businessman to pay compensation for "moral damage." The fine is for more than 14 million to the Morena governor, a sentence that can still be appealed in other legal instances.

The judicial authority considered that the publications made by the businessman during last year's electoral campaign were "slander and defamation." In which he revealed a list of luxurious properties of Nahle García.

"It is declared that the defendant Arturo Castagné Couturier engaged in illegal conduct. The same conduct that caused moral damage to citizen Norma Rocío Nahle García. For the reasons stated in the consideration IV of this ruling"

The judge said that these were acts intended to "intimidate, insult, humiliate, and belittle" the Morena candidate.

Faced with Judge Zoraya López's order of a five-day deadline for damage repair, the businessman replied that he was never notified and even less summoned to any hearing.

"My complaints against the lady, her husband, and niece never prospered. Even though I filed them in a timely manner with all the evidence"

he lamented on his social media.

He will not retract

The Veracruz businessman Arturo Castagné Couturierrefused this Sunday to retract his accusations against Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García.

This comes after the ruling ordering him to pay 14 million pesos for moral damage. He would also have to publish an apology in the media where he spread his accusations.

In a message on his X account,Castagné rejected the judicial ruling and stated that he will maintain his stance and will continue presenting evidence of his complaints against the state leader.

"Lady from Zacatecas, Norma Rocío Nahle García, I do not retract anything," he wrote.

Castagné claimed that his complaints against Nahle, her husband José Luis Peña, and her niece Maribel Hoyos were filed since April 2024. He also stated that they have documented evidence.

He also announced that he will publish this information in the coming days and accused that the governmental apparatus protects the state leader.

"Today she has the entire governmental apparatus on her side and that doesn't intimidate me, reason and evidence are on my side"

he posted.

In his message, the businessman revealed that he is collaborating with international bodies to which he has provided information about alleged irregularities related to "fiscal huachicol."

"This is just the beginning, I will fight, all in due time," he concluded.
