The Liberation Arm sector, allied to the Socialist Party, accuses the MIDES minister of having betrayed them in the distribution of positions in the government.

The group called “Liberation Arm” —a collective that moves in networks with a critical discourse towards leaders of the Broad Front—has used harsh terms, including trying to call Gonzalo Civila a “traitor”.

This group is led by Diego Olivera, Mario Bergara's current right-hand man in the Montevideo administration. Olivera was a panelist on the show “Esta Boca Es Mia” until a couple of years ago

Brazo Libertador is a small ultra-left group that made an electoral alliance with the Socialist Party list 90 in the October 2024 elections.

Fight for office

There are several sectors of the Broad Front that are fighting for well-paid positions in the government.

The Liberation Arm sector accused the minister of MIDES, Gonzalo Civila of the Socialist Party, of being a “traitor”, and not meeting the quota of positions that the group sought in the government.

All the fighting and discussion boils down to a ruthless struggle for positions of power, and well-paying positions in the government. They are not interested in improving the situation in Uruguay, it only motivates them to settle in different positions in the State to enjoy the privileges granted by

power.

It is clear that there is no intention of improving the living conditions of Uruguayan citizens. All they are interested in is sharing government positions, earning generous salaries, and traveling abroad with taxpayers' money. Meanwhile, the country is plunging into decay, insecurity, and tax increases
