National Party alternate deputy and former cabildante Inés Monzillo suffered ruthless attacks on X (formerly Twitter) from Cabildo Abierto deputy Álvaro Perrone and ultra-left political operator Diego Martini Lemos.
The latter pretends to be a journalist but receives a hefty monthly salary paid by all taxpayers in Montevideo through their taxes.
The exchange arose because Perrone, a re-elected CA deputy for Canelones, accused Monzillo of promoting "illegal taxis" in Ciudad de la Costa, based on a WhatsApp status.
This accusation, released on Twitter, not only reflects a criticism of Monzillo but also an attempt to position himself as a defender of local interests (Canelones taxi drivers) and to maintain CA's relevance during a period of political transition.

Monzillo, now in the National Party, replied with sarcasm, accusing Perrone of seeking fame and neglecting real problems, which demonstrates the personal animosity and competition between the two in Canelones.
Perrone's public accusation was extremely malicious. He did it to expose Monzillo to public contempt by airing a simple WhatsApp status.
