Constanza Moreira spent more than $4,700 on a trip with public funds

The senator from Frente Amplio, known for her anti-male activism disguised as feminism, once again took a seat in Parliament in February 2025.

Since that moment, she has taken advantage of all the luxuries and privileges that come with being a member of the Legislative Branch: super salaries and trips abroad with public funds.

According to official information from the Senate Chamber, Moreira traveled to the II Parliamentary Forum of America and the Caribbean for 7 days, from August 10 to 16. 

The total expense, including travel, accommodation, and travel insurance, is 4,728 dollars.

That is, about $188,000 as of November 2025. If we divide this figure by the 7 days the trip lasted, Moreira spent $26,000 per day.

A useless trip

As can be easily seen, this was more of a high school graduation trip than a parliamentary work trip, where Constanza Moreira took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Aztec country with public funds. 

This 4,728 dollars comes from the Senate's coffers, not from the legislator's pocket. That is, it is the Uruguayan taxpayers with their taxes who paid for this completely useless trip to Mexico. 

No report from the senator is known upon her return from the trip, and it is also unknown what benefit traveling to a nonsensical forum where completely inconsequential matters are discussed could bring to Uruguay.

What is certain is that the senator from Frente Amplio spent in one week what thousands of Uruguayans do not earn in three months of work. 

The legislator who boasts of "defending women's rights" squandered in 7 days what many Uruguayan women earn in several months of honest work.

A dark trajectory

Moreira began her public life in 2005. She took a seat in the Senate for José Mujica's list 609. Since then, she has spent two decades siphoning public money.

Additionally, with a double salary, because she has a small teaching position at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of the Republic.

Taxpayers pay taxes so that Constanza Moreira can have two salaries: one as a university employee and another as a legislator. 

She is a typical representative of the parasitic political caste, who uses everyone's money for personal benefit while working Uruguayans see their taxes increase.

She is part of the same government that promised during the election campaign not to raise taxes, but in just a few months has increased them, betraying the electorate. 

Working Uruguayans continue to pay taxes to support these types of politicians who contribute nothing positive to the country.

Moreira built her political profile by despising half the population, all men, and defending the communist dictatorships of Cuba and Venezuela.
