Enveloped press: La Diaria charged an overprice for Mujica's funeral notice
The communist pamphlet charged an overprice to URSEA for a funeral notice after José Mujica's death
After José Mujica passed away, the URSEA (Energy and Water Services Regulatory Unit) dedicated itself to distributing public money to various media outlets.
Of course, LaDerechaDiario didn't receive a single peso.
Using the excuse of placing funeral notices, URSEA, with taxpayers' money, dedicated itself to spreading funds to different media.
It paid a total of $98,403 for the publication of funeral notices.
The figures
The money paid to the different media is as follows: El Observador: $3,849, El País: $5,047, Caras y Caretas: $16,000, Brecha: 17,080, LaDiaria: $22,267, Búsqueda: $34,160.
As can be seen, La Diaria, an ultra-left pamphlet at the service of the Broad Front, received an exorbitant amount considering its few readers.

The newspaper El País, whether you like it or not, is the most read in Uruguay, and it received five times less than the ultra-leftist pamphlet at the service of Yamandú Orsi's government.
Why is this? Why did a pamphlet with few readers receive five times more than a much more widely read newspaper?
The answer is clear. The Broad Front government uses the state apparatus and taxpayers' resources to finance loyal media.
URSEA, a state agency, was used to finance the aforementioned pamphlet.
With the money of all Uruguayans, they pay the so-called enveloped pseudo-press.
With this, they ensure those who perceive themselves as journalists are nothing more than applauders of the national government.
La Diaria, a supposed cooperative
It should not be forgotten that La Diaria is organized as a cooperative, and not as a commercial company, which is what it truly is.
This way, they hardly pay taxes, as cooperatives have tax exemptions.
This is unfaircompetition to the rest of the media, which are indeed commercial companies and pay the corresponding taxes.

Note that for a simple funeral notice, La Diaria received more than $22,000.
URSEA paid the pamphlet an exorbitant overprice with the sole purpose of granting publicmoney to a loyal pamphlet.
It is clear that if with everyone's money the Broad Front government is financing La Diaria, its editorial line is nothing more than a faithful follower of the official line.
It is legitimate for La Diaria to defend Orsi's government and to applaud the socialist narco dictatorships of Cuba and Venezuela. Or that it supported the mega electoral fraud of dictator Nicolás Maduro last year.

What is not legitimate is that it does so with people's money, with the money of Uruguayan taxpayers who pay taxes.
