Ana Inés Martínez, another communicator captured by Frente Amplio
She was hired with a monthly salary of almost $200,000 at the Montevideo city council
The hiring of the soccer reporter Ana Inés Martínez is another scandal of the departmental administration of Montevideo.
Since 1990, the Broad Front has treated the capital's departmental government as its partisan political fiefdom.
It levies enormous taxes on taxpayers to maintain a large partisan political machinery with hundreds of high-paying trust positions, which are distributed among the various sectors of the Broad Front.
The hiring of Martínez is truly outrageous for Montevideo residents who sacrificially pay their taxes.
She has no training
As far as we know, she has no training in journalism or communication. She has become known for her television appearances commenting on soccer.
We have no record of her having a communication specialist diploma.
In addition to the deductions established by law, Martínez will also have to contribute part of her salary to the Socialist Party, given that it is a trust position.
Everything indicates that Martínez has long been affiliated with said Party.
Recruitment of "journalists"
Since Orsi assumed the presidency on March 1st, pseudo-journalists and communicators have been seen settling into different positions in various state agencies.
Of course, all paid with taxpayers' money.
This reflects a policy of recruiting individuals linked to the media and also of repaying favors to supposed journalists who for years did errands for the left, whether the Broad Front, the PIT-CNT, or their satellite organizations.
Placed communicators
In the case of Blanca Rodríguez, although she was elected as a legislator, she was placed on list 609 due to her career on Channel 10.
María Inés Obaldia was also elected as a deputy.
Then there are the cases of Martin Lees and Iliana da Silva, as advisors to the presidency of the Republic.
Also Claudia Varela, former Subrayado, Alejandro Camino in the Ministry of Defense, Leonardo Silvera, and Verónica Amorelli who were on channel 12 and will now be in the Ministry of the Interior.

Another will be Noelia Franco who will perform functions for the Ministry of Housing.
Marcelo Soba, former member of Fácil Desviarse, will be an advisor to the Minister of Economy Gabriel Oddone.
The reporter Julieta Núñez, from TV Ciudad, will handle institutional communication for the Ministry of Social Development.
Valeria Tanco will have a position in the institute of letters.
Danger to freedom of expression
As can be easily seen, less than a month after Orsi's government took office, about 20 communicators have been settled with excellent salaries paid by taxpayers.
This is what has been released; surely there are more.
All this is not accidental. Favors from recent years are being repaid to fake journalists who worked on television, radio, or in newspapers, giving them a public position as a reward.
This responds to an authoritarian project of communication hegemony, which is very dangerous for Uruguayan democracy.
