The Broad Front labor union issued a statement last Monday, December 1, supporting the Venezuelan communist narco-dictatorship.
Although the union bureaucracy's statement refers to an alleged "interference" by the U.S. government against Venezuela, what is clear is that the Uruguayan union bureaucrats approve of the human rights violations in the Caribbean country and applaud the tyrant Nicolás Maduro.
Dirty ties
Since Maduro took power as dictator in 2013, the entire union bureaucracy has supported his tyranny.
We all remember when the communist Marcelo Abdala traveled to Venezuela for a public event and praised and embraced the Venezuelan tyrant.
Meanwhile, while the vast majority of the Venezuelan population suffers from poverty and opponents are imprisoned and tortured, the leader of PIT-CNT called the dictator "comrade president" and embraced Maduro with a smile.
PIT-CNT's defense of dictatorships that violate human rights is not new.
Posteo del PIT-CNT
They have always supported the Cuban communist dictatorship and have never condemned the violations of human rights perpetrated by the Island's communist regime.
Parasitic union caste
The union leaders are a useless union caste that enjoys the work of others without working and that is won over with the world's communist dictatorships.
PIT-CNT has a sinister history of supporting human rights violations by the Cuban dictatorship, which they call "revolution," and for several years now, the dictatorship led by Maduro, which they refer to as the "Bolivarian revolution."
They have totalitarian and anti-democratic DNA on full display. The Uruguayan union caste believes neither in democracy nor in freedom.
Abdala en Venezuela
Now, in December 2025, the Uruguayan union bureaucracy applauds a narco-dictator who murders, tortures and imprisons opponents, and who has left a country prostrate in misery.
As always, PIT-CNT applauds genocidal dictators and celebrates murders.
Instead of worrying about what a true labor union should be concerned with, that is, the fate of Uruguayan wage earners, they devote themselves to praising human rights violators.
