Serious act of censorship. In a democracy, freedom of expression must be guaranteed without arbitrary limitations

The statement

In an official statement issued this Friday, March 21, 2025, the Platform For Freedom (PPL) has raised its voice against a direct attack on freedom of expression.

The authorities of Hotel Radisson have canceled the official launch event of the party, scheduled for next Friday, March 28, just a week before its realization.

This event is not an isolated incident, but part of a worrying pattern of silencing that affects those who defend strong stances in favor of freedom.

What further aggravates the situation is that this is not the first time Hotel Radisson has taken such a measure against events related to figures and movements aligned with the political right.

Just a few days ago, the event known as Derecha Fest, which was scheduled for May and was to feature prominent names like the Spanish journalist and owner of La Derecha Diario, Javier Negre, the communicator Esteban Queimada, and the writer Agustín Laje, was also canceled by the same institution.

At that time, the PPL expressed its solidarity with the organizers of Derecha Fest and issued a private complaint against the hotel's management, calling the decision an "arbitrariness."

"Reprisal"

Now, with the cancellation of its own launch, the party interprets these acts as a direct reprisal for its "firm and consistent" stance in defense of freedom of expression.

"We firmly believe that our stance has motivated this new reprisal against our launch, evidencing a worrying pattern of silencing," the statement asserts.

Derecha Fest had caused anticipation as a meeting space for influential voices of the Ibero-American right, with figures like Javier Negre, known for his confrontational style against corrupt politicians and his leadership of the platform EDATV and La Derecha Diario, Esteban Queimada, an emerging communicator in the field of the conservative cultural battle; and Agustín Laje, an intellectual reference of the new right and author of works like La Batalla Cultural.

The cancellation of this event had already raised alarms among sectors that identify with these ideas, and now the PPL sees in Hotel Radisson's decision an escalation in attempts to silence their proposals.

Despite this setback, the Platform For Freedom, led by Dr. Fernando Doti Tori, doesn't give up.

Alternatives are being studied

In the statement, they assure that they are already evaluating alternatives to carry out their launch and promise to share new details in the coming hours.

With a strong message, they close the text reaffirming their resistance: "We want to make something very clear: the censors will never succeed in silencing us."

This declaration not only reflects their determination but also seeks to mobilize their followers in a context they perceive as hostile.

Meanwhile, as the PPL prepares its next step, the episode promises to generate a broader debate on censorship and the right to dissent in the current landscape.

For now, the party remains firm in its conviction that, far from breaking them, these obstacles will strengthen their struggle.
