The Government of Javier Milei reported on progress in the acquisition of new military equipment with the United States, including new
Stryker armored vehicle units and the acquisition of Black Hawk helicopters.The definition came from a meeting at the Pentagon led by Defense Minister Carlos Presti, who held meetings with Joseph Humire, Undersecretary of War for National Defense and Security of the Americas, and with Michael Jensen, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs of the National Security Council (NSC).
As reported by the Ministry of Defense, “it was agreed to increase the number of Stryker armored vehicles and to incorporate Black Hawk helicopters, a qualitative leap that strengthens national resilience.” This decision is part of a broader strategy of military modernization promoted by the Government
of Milei.
The official statement notes that these measures respond to the policy of international alignment promoted by the Argentine president. “In line with the policy of relations with the United States promoted by President Javier Milei, we continue to deepen defense cooperation to modernize our Armed Forces
,” it said.During the meeting, other key axes for strengthening military capabilities were also analyzed. Among them, the incorporation of defense systems aimed at protecting strategic resources and critical infrastructure, as well as the development of multidomain capabilities, with special emphasis on cyber defense
