The Argentine team deployed in Venezuela achieved one of the most significant rescues this Sunday since the beginning of the emergency caused by the earthquakes on June 24. Thanks to the intervention of Bart, a dog specialized in search and rescue, two children were found alive under the rubble of a collapsed structure.
The operation was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense, which highlighted the joint work of the Argentine marines and the rescue teams deployed in the affected area.
How the rescue of the two children trapped under the rubble took place
According to the Ministry of Defense, Bart entered through a tunnel opened among the remains of the collapsed structure, where he detected signs of life and marked the exact location where the minors were trapped.
"A piece of news that fills us with pride from Venezuela. This afternoon, during the search and rescue efforts, Argentine marines contributed to the discovery of two minors alive trapped in a collapsed structure", the ministry reported through its social media.

The statement specified that the dog "marked a positive presence and allowed the search to be redirected and the excavation to be oriented towards the correct location", an action that was decisive for carrying out the rescue.
Bart was recognized by Venezuelan authorities
Once the operation was completed, Bart received recognition from the Venezuelan authorities involved in the emergency tasks, as a token of appreciation for his performance during one of the most complex searches conducted since the earthquake.
