FIFA announced a change in the way it updates its national ranking. From the next international windows, the table will reflect changes in real time as the matches are played
.Until now, the ranking was updated once each FIFA date ended. With the new system, fans will be able to follow a provisional version that will vary simultaneously with the results of the matches, although the positions will only be official when each international window ends
.The agency explained that "the formula used to calculate the positions will remain the same, although it will now be applied after receiving confirmed information about the goals scored, so it will be instantly reflected how a change in the result affects a team's classification”.

The release of this format will be staggered. First, it will begin to be implemented in the men's ranking during the March selection window and, a month later, in the
women's ranking. The scoring system will not change and will continue to consider official tournaments organized by FIFA and other absolute competitions recognized by the entity.
With this change, FIFA seeks to offer a more dynamic and closer experience for fans, who will be able to follow live how each goal or result impacts the overall national team table.
