The protagonists of the iconic youth series spoke unfiltered about what they earned in their teens and were surprised to tell how that success impacted their finances.

Almost two decades after the Ugly Duck phenomenon, Brenda Asnicar and Laura Esquivel returned to the center of the scene. In the midst of their tour of Spain, where they promote the return of the show to theaters, both were surprised to speak with total sincerity about the money they earned during the success of the

strip.

It was in an interview with the podcast Supe Zeta that the actresses made it clear that, despite the massive impact of the show, their income was not up to the phenomenon.

“We earned the minimum minimum an actor can earn. It was always the minimum,” Asnicar said, revealing a reality that tends to remain hidden in the industry

.

For its part, Esquivel added a fact that attracted attention: the income from the songs did not represent a significant difference either. “Yes, there is our right as interpreters, but it's nothing,” he explained

.

The statements generated surprise, especially considering that the series was not only a television success, but also a musical success, with international tours and a strong impact throughout Latin America and Europe.

During the talk, the driver was straight to the point: “So they didn't get rich with Ugly Ducky?” . Brenda's response, laughingly, quickly went viral: “The soul, the heart and the love. In the account, it was enough and it's worth much more.”

The phrase swept through social media and generated a wave of comments. Many users were surprised by the situation and highlighted the honesty of both actresses.

In this context, Laura Esquivel provided a personal look at how she managed to manage her income at such a young age. “In my case, I had the help of my father, who saved every penny I earned... and thanks to that, today I have my place, my house,”

he said.

Their testimony highlighted a key difference: managing money at a stage where, due to their age, they were completely dependent on their families.

After the repercussion, Asnicar decided to clarify his sayings to avoid misunderstandings. “Each one had different contracts. We were able to buy our houses, which is a dream for any artist,” he explained.

However, he remarked that this economic growth was not directly linked to the series: “In my case, it was more because of the tours. But rich, millionaires with the series, no.”

Beyond the economic aspect, both agreed that Ugly Patito was a transformative experience. The program not only marked a generation, but it also opened doors in their careers. “It was beautiful to harvest so much work and opportunities,” Asnicar concluded
