The Republican Party defends its narrow majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate this Tuesday in the midterm elections. These elections, in addition to determining control of Congress for the next two years, will define the future of the country and the remainder of Donald Trump's term.
U.S. electoral history indicates that the party not occupying the White House takes control of the House in legislative elections. The important thing here is to measure the magnitude of a potential Democratic victory and how many seats the left ends up with. In the Senate, Republicans hold a majority of 53 votes to 47, and there are seven states whose elections poll within the margin of error.
On the other hand, gubernatorial races will be at stake in 36 of the 50 states in the country. Additionally, except in four states, all will hold state legislative elections. Voters will also weigh in on 145 measures that will appear on the ballot at the state level across the country.
